In addition to our international music mission trips, we are also a part of local (South and North Carolina) prison ministry together with minister Jon Simone and his team, mostly from First Baptist North Spartanburg.
We are not allowed to film and take pictures inside, but here is a video that we made right outside the minimum security prison in Morganton, NC on July 21st this year. Gospel-rap artist Celtic (Kerry Phillips); who is one of our recurring artists for our prison ministry, and his wife Jozlyn; who schedules the music for these prison events, is speaking a little bit about what it is like to do prison ministry.
Here is the report from what happened at the event
We had a really amazing time. About 50 men showed up for the meeting. Several were already Christians, and many were familiar faces that show up every time. Great music and messages/testimonies. About 17 men said they wanted to be saved. And another 20+ wrote prayer requests for the team to pray for. Many awesome conversations, and chit chats while eating donuts.
We get to be a part of this several times a year, and we are looking forward to the next one on September 15th.
